Phil Dutton brings more than three decades of legal and business experience spanning real estate, entertainment, media, and corporate development. Based in Los Angeles, he serves as an attorney with The D4 Group and is Of Counsel to Peter Law Group. In these roles, he provides legal counsel across these sectors. His practice includes structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements and transactions, advising on intellectual property, licensing, and rights management matters, and supporting executive leadership in strategic decision-making and long-term growth initiatives. He also advises on regulatory compliance and legal risk across business operations.
Mr. Dutton has experience working at the intersection of law, business, and media, representing companies in entertainment, real estate, and related industries. He advises executive leadership on legal, operational, and risk considerations associated with business activities and development.
Prior to joining The D4 Group, Mr. Dutton served as General Counsel for MeTV, where he was responsible for all corporate legal matters. In that role, he oversaw corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks, negotiated and managed commercial contracts and strategic agreements, and directed intellectual property and media rights strategy. He advised executive leadership on legal and operational matters.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Dutton held corporate counsel positions with Clinton Reilly Holdings and American Gaming and Entertainment Limited, advising on corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and business operations in domestic and international markets. He began his legal career as an associate attorney with Brown Jacobson, where he supported litigation and transactional matters.
Mr. Dutton earned an LL.M. in International Law from the University of Sydney Law School, a J.D. from Western Michigan School of Law, and a B.A. from George Washington University.
